My aunt - who has diabetes type 2 too - tells me her OneTouch meter is great and I should just buy it. I'm new to this diabetes thing - does anyone agree with my aunt? I'm open to other suggestions. I'm not real good with electronics, so simple is a top consider for me.

My Mom uses the OneTouch and loves it, if that helps. She's a type 1 diabetic.

This is a good question. I too am after an accurate and reliable BGL meter and I'm testing 2 meters.
The Accu-Chek Performa and the Freestyle Optium. The Accu-Chek gives a lower reading and this can be by upto 2 mmol.
Has anyone seen articles comparing the various BGL meters on the market ?

    Hi, vyen!
Every year, Diabetes Forecast magazine puts out a consumer guide for diabetes products. Find the 2012 guide here (copy/paste this url): http://forecast.diabetes.org/diabetes-101/2012-consumer-guide
You should also take a look at DiabetesCare.net's Product Directory, which lists individual diabetes products and has links to the manufacturers web pages for more information. Find our directory here (copy/paste this url): http://www.diabetescare.net/RatingSystem/default.aspx
    Good luck!

    Hi
I use the IBG Star meter, and love it. I can attach it to my Iphone and it downloads the readings onto the phone. Then it has 3 different summary views. One is a trend chart, a log book, and statistics. You can even email the readings in a spreadsheet to your doctor or yourself to share with your doctor.
