Now is the time to work closely with a diabetes educator. Keeping your A1c below 7, as close to 6 as possible, will protect your baby. You may need to test more frequently, and insulin dose adjustments will be influenced by your hormonal changes and increasing weight. You will need to monitor your blood pressure more. Take your prenatal vitamins and keep active and eat healthy, just like any pregnant woman needs to.
