Insulin outside of the refridgerator

How long can I keep my insulin outside of the refridgerator? Can I keep insulin vial that I do not use in the freezer?
  • Samuel Grossman, BS Pharm, Pharm.D, CDE PROFESSIONAL
Insulin vial can be kept outside of the refrigerator for a period of 28 days. You should never keep insulin vial in the freezer. It will reduce the effectiveness of insulin solution and prevent it from working optimally to reduce blood sugar.
