high blood sugar

    I am aged 66, male. I have been suffering from Diabetes for twenty years. I tried Metformin Hydrochloride (1000 mg )Sustained Release and Glimepiride (4 mg){Glycomet GP 4 Forte} before breakfast,of course under medical care and Voglibose JP (0.3 mg) before lunch and dinner. Now my Fasting is 182 mg and PP is 225 mg (no major change in last 6 months). Am I under right treatment ? Email ID: dasnirm@gmail.com

    Based on the information that you submitted, it appears that your medication regimen is still challanged in attempting to meet goals for your blood sugar. If the regimen has not produce an improvement in the past 6 month, it may be time to discuss with your provider a different medication regimen that may reduce blood glucose levels further. Your average blood sugar over a period of 3 months (called hemoglobin A1c) may help guide your provider as to what changes should be made to your medication regimen.
