High glucose level

    I am an Indian with Type 2 diabetic and on the following medications; 1.Glimepiride 2mg, 1tab early in the morning before food 2.Metformin 500mg 1tab after food twice a day. My glucose level 2 hrs after food- 250mg/dl and 130mg/dl at fasting. Also has hypertension - 140/80. Request your advice on how to reduce my glucose level

    Hello, Your blood glucose level starts out in the morning higher than recommended (fasting level). It will rise after you eat. I would suggest calling your doctor about your blood glucose values. I would suggest starting at the fasting values. Your doctor may want to change your Metformin amounts or perhaps another medication. Please let us know how you make out.
