Based on the A1C level that you reported 6.4%, you are in good control. Continue the current medication regimen that you are taking. You mentioned that you are taking Vitaboost for improvement of semen level. There is growing evidence to support a link between oxidative stress and male infertility. As an individual gets older, hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anions are generated by human sperm as part of their normal metabolism. If the production of these radicals and anions is excessive, then oxidative stress can occur leading to a possible negative effect on the sperm. Negative effect can include such things as abnormal shape, and impaired movement of the sperm. Vitaboost among other vitamins may contains an extremely wide range of important antioxidants such as Vitamin E, Zinc, Selenium and Manganese, as well as Alpha Lipoic Acid, N-Acetyl Cysteine and Resveratrol, combined with natural antioxidant extracts (Pomegranate, Bilberry, Watercress, Pine Bark and Mixed Berries) to help to protect sperm cells from oxidative stress. There are no large studies to document the specific benefits of Vitaboost, but some report that the product and products like it may have benefit.
