Heart Implant Loop Detector's Effect On Glucose LevelsI - Posted by BridgeMan
I've been Type 1 diabetic since 1962, taking insulin since then. I just had a loop implant detector placed today in my chest. Since the procedure, my blood sugars have all been well over 300 mg/d.L, despite taking huge amounts of quick-acting lispro insulin. The 3 injections today since the procedure totaled more than 120 units, and still I'm in the 300s. Should I consider having the loop detector removed? I don't think being in the 300s is healthy, as I usually am reasonably well-controlled (last A1C was 6.8%).
