Weight loss can be caused by many different reasons when a patient is on insulin and the sugar level is controlled. To increase weight, consuming more calories may assist in weight gain. It is important not to eat sweets and limit carbohydrates since blood sugar control could be lost. Additional calories should come from protein and fat sources. Also, reducing exercise can help increase weight.
