I frequently undergo stress when teaching and mentoring, but my numbers go lower not higher. This appears to go against accepted wisdom. Does anybody else have this conundrum please?

    Hello bthomas45,
Stress or illness can make the blood sugar go up or down. Please do test your blood sugars when stresses and treat appropriately. You are not alone.

I have a huge problem with stress - which causes me to sleep very restless - which makes my blood sugars run very high and I have no desire to eat. Does anyone have any of these problems and if you do what on earth do you do to fix them?

    Dear Eramage,
Please talk to your physician about the high levels of stress you have and the problems with your blood sugar and sleeping. Your doctor may want to look at the medications you are taking and discuss your stress. Ask about stress management programs in your area and perhaps a referral to a therapist so a you can develop a plan to lower your stress level. Please let us know your progress.
