Christopher Case, MD
Dr. Case is a board certified Internal Medicine physician who specializes in Endocrinology. In his private practice, Jefferson City Medical Group, Dr. Case treats individuals with diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, cholesterol disorders, and diseases of the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands. Dr. Case and his staff continually explore new ways to enhance the care they deliver to individuals with obesity. Their commitment to quality care is evident in their outcomes; One year of data revealed that their patients experienced tremendous medical benefits.
Dr. Case earned his medical degree at St. Louis University in 1997; where he also completed his residency. He concentrated on obesity, weight loss, metabolic syndrome and new developments in cardiovascular disease prevention during his fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Case has conducted many research projects and, as a result, is well published. His work includes the following articles, Thyroid Changes and Aging, Continuous Intravenous Glucagon, Impact of Weight Loss on the Metabolic Syndrome, The Neglected Americans with High Global Risk of CHD and Low LDL-C and Prevalence of the Metabolic Syndrome in the United States.
Amy Hess-Fischl, MS, RD, LDN, BC-ADM, CDE
Amy Hess-Fischl is an advanced practice dietitian and coordinator for the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center Teen InTransit program, a unique diabetes program for adolescents and teens with diabetes. She speaks internationally on all diabetes topics, especially children and teens with diabetes, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitors.
Amy is actively involved in the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Hess-Fischl was named 2009 Diabetes Educator of the Year by the Diabetes Care and Education practice group within AND. She serves as an expert reviewer for the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, has been published in both professional and lay publications, and has served on numerous task forces and advisory boards nationwide.
Megan Day, MS, RD, CDE
Beginning her career as a hospital dietitian, Megan spent five years working with patients admitted for diabetes and its complications. With a passion for educating and improving lifestyles of her patients she moved into the challenging field of diabetes education. Megan received her certification as a diabetes educator in 2011. She combines her extensive nutrition understanding with her knowledge of diabetes to provide a well-rounded educational experience for her patients. Megan specializes in educating patients in a one-on-one and classroom setting covering the full gamut of diabetes disorder; type 1, type 2, gestational and other forms of diabetes.
